A few years ago, I was invited by my cousin Jacquie to accompany her on one of her trips to Honduras. After seeing the poverty in the country and meeting the children in the orphanage, I was forever changed; the things that many Americans take for granted, such as a stable roof over our head, medical care when we need it, and an over-abundance of food are things that many Hondurans can only wish for. I realized on that trip that it is truly pot-luck who we are born to, and that it was my calling to help the children in the orphanage anyway I can. I am constantly amazed by the generosity of my friends and family when preparing for our trips; everyone gives so much. The children and staff at the orphanage are in my thoughts every day.
